The KIA NBA Michael Jordan MVP finalists have been announced and they comprise three exceptional players who have had a phenomenal season. The first player on the list is the Canadian star, Shai Gilegous-Alexander. He has been a highlight reel throughout the season with a jaw-dropping average of 30.1 PPG, 6.2 APG, and 5.5 RPG. More impressively, his team, the Oklahoma City Thunder, held the best record in the Western Conference with a 57-25 record. This is the team’s best record since 2013-14 where they posted a 59-23 record led by the MVP Kevin Durant and the triple-double king Russell Westbrook.
The second finalist is the Slovenian superstar in the process, Luka Doncic, who has been a fan favourite throughout the season. He has posted a stunning average of 33.9 PPG, 9.2 RPG, and 9.8 APG, recording 21 triple-doubles, which is a career-high in a season. Interestingly, his PPG and APG are also career highs, making him a force to reckon with.
Lastly, the third finalist and favourite to win the award for a third time is the Serbian walking triple-double, Nikola Jokic. He has been averaging 26.4 PPG, 12.4 RPG, and 9 APG. He won the NBA finals and the Finals MVP last year and has also been selected as an all-star five times. With all these achievements, he is undoubtedly a strong contender for the prestigious award.
