The Golden State Warriors have made a move to trade guard Cory Joseph to the Indiana Pacers. This trade is a part of the Pacers’ efforts to strengthen their team and build towards a successful season. As part of the deal, the Pacers will receive Cory Joseph, a 2025 second-round pick, and cash considerations. Meanwhile, the Warriors will acquire a 2024 second-round pick.
However, despite being added to the Pacers team, it is reported that Joseph will be waived. This means that he will no longer be a part of the Pacers’ roster. In his limited playing time this season, Joseph played only 26 games with Golden State, averaging just 2.4 points and 1.6 assists.
The 32-year-old point guard has an impressive career record, with 82 games of playoff experience under his belt. He has spent 13 years in the league with career averages of 6.9 points, 3.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds. This will be Joseph’s second stint with the Pacers as he previously played for the team from 2017-19.
The Pacers have been actively involved in the trade deadline, making several moves to bolster their team. They recently acquired Doug McDermott from San Antonio and traded Buddy Hield to Philadelphia. However, it seems that keeping Joseph in their mix does not align with their current plans.
