Utah’s frontcourt stays intact — at least for now.
According to ESPN’s reporting, John Collins has officially exercised his $26.5 million player option for the 2025–26 NBA season. The 6’9″ forward will remain with the Utah Jazz, marking his second full season in Salt Lake City.
Collins joined the Jazz in a 2023 offseason trade from the Atlanta Hawks and has since become a reliable contributor. Though his scoring numbers have dipped slightly from his Atlanta days, he provided valuable size, athleticism, and spacing for a young Jazz team still figuring out its core.
Utah now enters the offseason with more clarity on its cap sheet and roster construction. With Collins locked in, the Jazz may look to build around him, Lauri Markkanen, and Keyonte George, or explore trade options depending on how aggressive they plan to be in the West.
Either way, Collins betting on himself and staying put adds another wrinkle to a quietly busy offseason.
