LeBron James will miss the Los Angeles Lakers’ Friday night matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves due to soreness in his left foot, the team announced Thursday. This marks the second consecutive game James will sit out after also missing last Sunday’s victory over Portland.
James is averaging 23.0 points, 9.1 assists, and 8.0 rebounds this season, his 22nd in the NBA, tying the league record for longevity. Despite his efforts, the Lakers have hit a rough patch, losing seven of their last ten games after starting 10-4.
Meanwhile, Austin Reaves, who has been sidelined for five games with a pelvic bruise, has been upgraded to questionable for Friday. Anthony Davis, listed as probable with left plantar fasciitis, is expected to play.
The Lakers (13-11) will need all hands on deck as they face the Timberwolves, who are emerging as a top contender in the Western Conference.
LeBron James in his career is averaging 27.1 PPG, along with 7.4 APG and 7.5 RPG, and on the defensive side is averaging 1.5 SPG and 0.7 BPG, which further proves that his 22 year career is more than impressive. Players like Vince Carter, Dirk Nowitzki, Tim Duncan, Shaquille O’Neal and so many other legends are really bad in their last season, but LeBron is built different.
