Magic Decline Options on Moe Wagner and Caleb Houstan

The Orlando Magic are making strategic financial moves as they shape their roster for the future.

According to ESPN, the Magic have declined team options on forward/center Moe Wagner ($11 million) and wing Caleb Houstan ($2.1 million). However, Orlando retains both players’ Bird Rights, which allows them to exceed the cap to re-sign either player if they choose to do so later in free agency.

Wagner played a key role off the bench for the Magic, bringing high energy and toughness while averaging 10.9 points and 4.3 rebounds per game last season. Houstan, still early in his development, provided perimeter shooting and defensive length in limited minutes.

This move gives Orlando financial flexibility heading into the offseason while still leaving the door open to bring both players back on potentially different terms.

As the Magic look to build on their playoff appearance and emerging young core, every cap decision matters — and this one keeps their options wide open.
