During a recent game against the Los Angeles Clippers, Nurse, the coach of the Philadelphia 76ers, expressed optimism that star center Joel Embiid would return to the court soon. Embiid has missed 27 games this season due to an injury he sustained on January 30 against the Golden State Warriors, which required surgery on February 6 to repair a torn meniscus in his knee. Since Embiid’s injury, the 76ers have struggled, winning only 10 of their 26 games.

The team has confirmed that Embiid has been working on the court for the past two weeks, although they have kept the details of his progress confidential. Nurse has not seen Embiid in person since the 76ers are currently on a West Coast trip, but he has had FaceTime calls with him. Nurse believes that Embiid is getting better each day and is working hard to regain his strength and confidence.

When asked about the details of Embiid’s on-court activities and whether he has participated in scrimmages with the 76ers’ G League team, the Guardian said that Embiid was simply “on the court” and that they would provide updates when they have more information about his progress and possible return date.

With only nine games left in the regular season, the 76ers are currently in eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings. Despite Embiid’s extended absence, the team is still optimistic about their chances of making a strong playoff run once he returns to the court.
