The Phoenix Suns are making moves — and fast.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Suns have struck a deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves, acquiring the No. 31 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft in exchange for No. 36 and two future second-round picks.
That’s not all — Phoenix is also sending out picks 52 and 59, effectively pushing their way into the top of the second round and walking away with No. 31 and No. 41.
With the No. 31 pick, all eyes in the Suns’ war room are reportedly on St. Joseph’s standout Rasheer Fleming, a 6’9″ big man with strong rebounding instincts, high defensive upside, and an emerging offensive game. Fleming was on the rise late in the college season, and Phoenix appears ready to pounce.
This move signals that the Suns are shifting gears — they’re not just chasing stars, they’re adding depth, defense, and youth to a roster that lacked energy and size last season.
After a disappointing finish and missing the playoffs, Phoenix seems committed to a more balanced rebuild. With multiple second-round picks, Desmond Bane now gone, and Kevin Durant traded, the Suns are quietly resetting the table.
For Minnesota, it’s a value play. They collect more picks, offload an early second, and continue preparing for long-term roster flexibility behind Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns.
But the bigger headline?
Phoenix is betting on their scouting — and Rasheer Fleming might just be the next gem in the desert.
