In an exciting NBA game that took place on Tuesday night, the Phoenix Suns defeated the Sacramento Kings with a score of 130-125. Kevin Durant led the way for the Suns with an impressive 28 points, while Devin Booker added 25 points to the scoreboard. Eric Gordon also played exceptionally well, scoring 23 points and filling in for starting guard Bradley Beal, who suffered a hamstring injury and had to leave the game after just five minutes on the court. Meanwhile, recently acquired veteran Royce O’Neale contributed nine points, five assists, four rebounds, and four steals for the Suns.
Despite a remarkable performance from Domantas Sabonis, who had his third consecutive triple-double with 35 points, 18 rebounds, and 12 assists, the Kings could not secure the win. De’Aaron Fox scored 40 points for Sacramento, and Malik Monk added 22 points off the bench.
The Suns were down by 11 points in the third quarter but managed to erase the deficit and take a 94-92 lead at the end of the quarter. In the fourth quarter, Gordon and O’Neale hit back-to-back 3-pointers to give the Suns a 103-94 lead. Although the Kings fought back, tying the game at 108 on a putback by Sabonis with 5:25 left, the game remained tight until the end. O’Neale’s 3-pointer with 47 seconds left put the Suns up 122-118. Fox responded with a 3-pointer to cut the margin to 122-121 with 41 seconds remaining, but Booker hit a jumper after a timeout, giving the Suns a 124-121 advantage. The Suns made enough free throws on the final possessions to maintain control of the game.
Booker scored 20 points in the second half, passing Alvan Adams to become the second-leading scorer in franchise history. Suns coach Frank Vogel praised Booker’s unique ability to feel the game out and said he played a big part in the victory.
Although the Kings outrebounded the Suns 50-39, they made only 29% of their 3-pointers, going 9 for 31 behind the arc. Beal’s injury was a significant blow to the Kings, who struggled to maintain their momentum after his departure. Vogel confirmed that Beal would miss the next game against Detroit but expressed optimism that he would not miss much more time. Beal is averaging 18.5 points per game this season.
Sacramento shot an impressive 58% from the field in the first half, leading the Suns 67-64 at halftime. Sabonis led the Kings with 19 points before the break, while Gordon scored 20 for Phoenix.
