The Charlotte Hornets may have a big decision to make this offseason—and Tre Mann is making sure he’s ready for it.

After being sidelined by a herniated disc in his back that held him to just 13 games in the 2024–25 season, Mann is reportedly fully recovered and has already returned to full 5-on-5 action with the Hornets in offseason workouts, per his agent Aaron Turner.

It’s a welcome sign for a young player who came into the league known for his fluid shot creation, confident handles, and sneaky bounce. Injuries may have slowed him, but they haven’t defined him.

As Mann hits restricted free agency, Charlotte will now have to decide: is he worth investing in long-term? The 6’3″ guard has shown flashes of being a microwave scorer and a secondary playmaker. If his health holds up and his confidence returns, he could be a major rotational piece—or more.

With the Hornets in the middle of a rebuild around LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller, every healthy, hungry young player matters. Tre Mann’s comeback couldn’t be better timed.

Keep an eye out. This summer could be Mann’s second wind—and a major turning point in his career.
