The Sacramento Kings are making it clear—they believe in Keegan Murray.
According to Shams Charania, the 2022 No. 4 overall pick has agreed to a five-year, $140 million rookie extension, keeping him in Sacramento through the 2030–31 season.
This move solidifies Keegan Murray as a long-term cornerstone for a Kings team aiming to remain competitive in the Western Conference. Since being drafted, Murray has quietly developed into one of the most versatile two-way forwards in the NBA. His ability to stretch the floor, defend multiple positions, and play within Sacramento’s offense makes him an ideal fit next to Domantas Sabonis and DeMar.

But here’s where it gets impressive: according to ESPN Research, Keegan Murray is one of only three players to record 500 3-pointers, 150 blocks, and 150 steals over the last three seasons—joining elite company in Anthony Edwards and Derrick White.
This new deal also makes him the sixth player to sign a rookie extension this year, ahead of the October 20 deadline. For Sacramento, this isn’t just a payday—it’s a statement of faith in a young player who’s still getting better every season.
If Murray continues on this trajectory, the Kings might have just secured one of the best value extensions of the entire offseason.
