The 2025 NBA preseason continues to deliver, and three rising squads just made statements of their own.
The Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, and Indiana Pacers each came out on top in their latest matchups—showcasing young talent, depth, and chemistry that could make them dangerous by the time the NBA preseason is over.

Atlanta Hawks vs. Memphis Grizzlies (122–116)
The Hawks handled business at home, taking down the Memphis Grizzlies 122–116 in a game that highlighted both their top-end talent and bench depth.
Zaccharie Risacher, the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, looked every bit the part—dropping 16 points on smooth shooting and impressive drives. His confidence continues to grow with every possession.
Jaylen Wells added 15 off the bench, bringing high energy and shot-making when Atlanta needed it most, while Trae Young orchestrated the offense beautifully with 11 points and 8 assists, constantly breaking down the Grizzlies’ defense.
The Grizzlies, likely resting some key names, fought hard but couldn’t match Atlanta’s offensive consistency down the stretch. The Hawks’ chemistry was on full display—and if Risacher keeps playing like this, Atlanta’s ceiling just got a lot higher.

Charlotte Hornets vs. Dallas Mavericks (120–116)
Charlotte’s young core came ready to hoop in Dallas, stunning the Mavericks 120–116 on the road. LaMelo Ball was in full control, dropping 20 points and 6 assists while dazzling with his handle and playmaking.
Miles Bridges brought the power, notching a double-double and throwing down one of the nastiest dunks of the preseason. And Brandon Miller quietly added 15 points, including a clutch three that helped Charlotte seal the deal.
The Hornets’ speed and energy overwhelmed the Mavs, especially with Luka Dončić and Kyrie Irving either resting or playing limited minutes. Charlotte’s pace, defense, and swagger made a statement—they’re not here just to rebuild anymore.

Indiana Pacers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder (116–101)
Indiana continues to look like one of the deepest teams in basketball. They cruised past the Thunder 116–101 behind Taelon Peter, who exploded for 25 points in a breakout game that had Pacers fans buzzing.
Bennedict Mathurin added 16 points, flashing his athleticism and smooth scoring touch, while Brooks Barnhizer had himself a night with 16 points and 11 rebounds, controlling the glass and bringing toughness to the floor.
Even with OKC resting its stars, the Pacers’ movement, rebounding, and energy were just too much. Their offensive rhythm and effort look postseason-ready already—and if Peter keeps scoring like this, Indiana might have found another hidden gem, this preseason is super strange for them.
Takeaway:
The Hawks showed off their future, the Hornets flexed their chemistry, and the Pacers reminded everyone why they’re one of the most exciting teams in the East. The NBA preseason might not count in the standings—but these three teams are counting the reps that matter.
