Ryan Rollins

With the Milwaukee Bucks having one of their worst seasons to date, sometimes it can be hard as fans to try to see the positives through it all. To some another year wasted of Giannis’s prime is an inexcusable and others are fully primed to embrace the tank and let the Giannis saga wash over them. Yet through it all there has been one bright spot for the Milwaukee Bucks. Ryan Rollins.

Ryan Rollins quick ascent to lead playmaker for the Milwaukee Bucks started after being waived from the Wizards for being charged with 7 counts of petit larceny. Yet the Bucks took a swing on upside signing him to a 2-way contract on Febuary 21st 2024. Where his play in the G-League and the Bucks belief in him as a player earned him a spot in the Bucks actual rotation in which Rollins averaged 6/2/2 on 48/40/80 in 56 games (starting 19 of them).

After the Bucks converted his contract late in the 24-25 season, he signed a 3year 12 million dollar contract from the Bucks and his play since has been worthy of the Most Improved Player award. In 63 games for the Bucks this year Rollins has averaged 16.6 points 4.7 rebound and 5.6 assists on 46/40/77 and has looked like the prototypical point guard you want next to Giannis.

His confidence on both ends of the ball grows with each game, defensively he takes on the challenge of guarding the opposing teams guard while still being the lead guard. Possibly his best skill is his shooting, averaging 40% on 6 attempts a night easily puts him as one of the premiere shooters in the league currently and that spacing is vital around Giannis. The twitchy guard is electric when attacking the basket, has shown maturity with his pace and is fantastic manipulating the glass to make tough baskets. Ryan Rollin’s career might’ve started off fractured but the 6’4 guard is growing into the games most versatile guards and should be rightly in the conversation for the Most Improved Player race.
