The Thunder aren’t going quietly.
Oklahoma City bounced back in classic fashion Sunday night, dropping the Indiana Pacers 123-107 in Game 2 of the NBA Finals. It’s been the same story all season long for the Thunder: take a loss, come back stronger. And they did exactly that.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the league MVP, led the charge once again with 34 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds, 4 steals, and a block—making it 72 total points through his first two Finals games, the most in NBA history.
SGA wasn’t alone. Alex Caruso gave OKC a huge lift off the bench with 20 points. Jalen Williams added 19, Aaron Wiggins chipped in 18, and Chet Holmgren tallied 15 in a balanced team effort. The Thunder built a 23-point lead in the second quarter with a blistering 19-2 run and never looked back.
And while Indiana stunned OKC in Game 1 with a fourth-quarter comeback, they had no such rally in them this time. Tyrese Haliburton scored 17, Myles Turner added 16, and Pascal Siakam put up 15, but none of the Pacers cracked 20 points for the second straight game—something that hasn’t happened in the Finals since 2013.
The series now shifts to Indianapolis for Game 3 on Wednesday, the city’s first NBA Finals game in 25 years.
If Game 2 proved anything, it’s this: when the Thunder get punched, they punch back harder. And when SGA is locked in like this, they’re nearly impossible to stop.
