OKC Thunder Win First NBA Championship in Franchise History

The Oklahoma City Thunder have done it. After years of rebuilding, patience, and promise — they’re now NBA champions.

In a 103–91 Game 7 victory over the Indiana Pacers, Oklahoma City completed a dream season behind Finals MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who dropped 29 points and dished out 12 assists. The Thunder became just the second youngest team in history to win a title — and they did it with poise, teamwork, and a defensive identity that never wavered.

Jalen Williams added 20 points in the clincher, showing up big on both ends, while Chet Holmgren finished with 18 points, continuing his elite rim protection and spacing. Alex Caruso and Cason Wallace chipped in with 10 apiece, proving once again that OKC’s depth is no joke.

The Pacers fought hard. Bennedict Mathurin led Indiana with 24 points off the bench, Pascal Siakam had 16, Andrew Nembhard scored 15, and T.J. McConnell gave a gritty 16-point effort — but they couldn’t overcome the Thunder’s second-half storm.

This title means more than just a ring for Oklahoma City. It’s validation of the Sam Presti blueprint. It’s the culmination of betting on youth, player development, and culture over quick fixes.

And most importantly — it’s the first NBA championship in OKC Thunder history.

Thunder Up. Forever.
