Los Angeles Lakers big man Christian Wood suffered another injury due to arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. Woods was injured on February 14 and will likely miss the remainder of the regular season. The Lakers did not give a specific time frame for his return.
In addition to Wood’s injury, the Lakers are still missing experienced players such as Jared Vanderbilt, Gabe Vincent and Cam Reddish. Vanderbilt has been out since Feb. 1 with a sprained right foot, and Vincent suffered a knee injury in October after playing five games in his first season with the Lakers. It is impossible to predict when the two experienced players will be able to play again. However, the Lakers hope that Reddish, who has been injured since March 8, can return as soon as possible.
This is Wood’s first season with the Lakers. Jaxson Hayes has thrived as Los Angeles’ backup in Wood’s absence.
Despite the injury problem, the Lakers won 13 of the last 20 games and ranked ninth in the league. Western Conference playoffs. LeBron James played an important role in the victory by averaging 25.4 points, 8.1 assists and 7.2 rebounds in his 21st NBA season. D’Angelo Russell, meanwhile, has been an elite outside shooter since midseason.
