Curry adds to his trophy case, winning the Jerry West KIA Clutch player of the Year

The award is presented to the player who has demonstrated exceptional performance during clutch situations, defined as the last 5 minutes of the fourth quarter or in overtime, with the score differential in the game being five points or less. Curry led the league in clutch scoring, with a remarkable 189 points. That’s not all, he also led the league in field goal makes and field goal attempts, with 59 and 119 respectively. Furthermore, Curry topped the charts in 3-point field goals and 3-point field goal attempts, with 32 and 70, respectively.

During the regular season, Curry ranked tenth in points with a total of 1956. However, he topped the charts in 3-point makes with 357, which means he has now led the league in 3-point makes for a record eight times.

It’s worth noting that the Clutch Player of the Year award is only in its second year of existence, and this year’s race was extremely close. DeMar DeRozan came in a close second with 272 points, just 26 points behind Curry’s 298. Meanwhile, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished third with 160 points.
