The Oklahoma City Thunder have again been incredible to start the 2025 NBA season, with a 14-4 record, leading the way in the Western Conference and overall are a top 3 team in the league.
Sadly though, one of their key players in Jalen Williams was injured last night vs the 3rd seed Warriors. It has been confirmed by league officials that it was a right eye injury and he definitely would not be returning to the game.
The incident happened near the end of the first half of the game, Warriors Forward Jonathan Kuminga got a nasty slam on Williams and hit his eye in the process. Jalen Williams sat on the floor for minutes holding his eye, before finally leaving the court limping.
Oklohoma will suffer not having a 20+ Points per game scorer, but many players could fill the space, but just not as well. Williams is averaging a career high 22.1 PPG, along with career highs in steals (2.2), blocks (1.0), rebounds (6.5) and assists (5.2).
This is only Jalen Williams third season in the NBA and his career looks bright, and this season if he continues this trend could earn himself an all star or even an all NBA nod.
