Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham left Thursday night’s game against the Charlotte Hornets in the final minute of regulation due to a left hip injury and did not return for overtime. The Pistons ultimately fell to the Hornets, 123-121.
Cunningham was injured after a hard fall following a foul by Grant Williams with 48 seconds remaining. He made both free throws to give Detroit a brief lead but left the game immediately after. Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff did not provide an update on Cunningham’s condition postgame.
Cunningham finished with 27 points and 10 assists, continuing his strong play despite the Pistons suffering their second consecutive loss to Charlotte. The Hornets were led by a career-high 38 points from Brandon Miller and 35 from LaMelo Ball, who powered their victory.

He has had 5 triple doubles this season, and shooting 38.1 from 3 pointer and 45.3% from the field, also career highs. Cade is 3rd in the league in triple doubles, behind LeBron and Jokic.
