The Atlanta Hawks will be without veteran center Clint Capela for the rest of the regular season after an MRI revealed a ligament injury in his left hand.
Following an MRI on March 17, Capela was diagnosed with a ligament injury in the fourth metacarpal of his left hand. He will begin rehabilitation immediately and will be re-evaluated in 3-4 weeks, meaning he could potentially return for the play-in tournament if Atlanta secures a spot.
Capela’s Season & Impact
The 30-year-old big man, who lost his starting role to Onyeka Okongwu in mid-January, has played 55 games this season, starting 41 of them. He is averaging 8.9 points and 8.5 rebounds, a notable dip after eight consecutive seasons scoring in double figures.
