Photos surfaced of Curry’s right thumb—wrapped, swollen, and iced postgame—revealing what many feared: he’s been playing with a badly bruised knuckle, possibly a torn UCL in his shooting hand. The injury reportedly dates back to preseason and has been aggravated several times throughout the year. Despite that, Steph has never once used it as an excuse.
When asked about the status of his hand, Curry replied, “I don’t even know how to answer it. Something you are dealing with and keep it moving.”
Keep it moving he has. Through five intense games against the Houston Rockets in the first round of the playoffs, Curry is still putting up numbers: 23.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game. The Warriors now hold a 3-2 lead in the series, just one win away from advancing—largely thanks to Curry’s leadership and grit.
A torn UCL often requires surgery, and many believe that’s exactly what’s waiting for Steph once the season ends. But for now, he’s focused on one thing only: winning.
No excuses. Just buckets. 🪣
