The Philadelphia 76ers are making another cap-clearing move.
Per ESPN, the Sixers are declining Lonnie Walker IV’s $2.9 million team option, officially making the 25-year-old guard a free agent. Walker played just 20 games with the team last season but made his minutes count, averaging 12.3 points, 23.8 minutes, and shooting 35.4% from deep.
Despite limited appearances, Walker provided instant offense off the bench and showed flashes of his explosive scoring ability. His shooting and athleticism could attract interest from multiple teams looking to boost their wing depth.
With Philadelphia now clearing more cap space — and already moving aggressively this offseason — Walker’s departure may be just one of several big changes coming for the Sixers.
