The Brooklyn Nets are staying busy this offseason. As the only team left with significant cap space, they’ve swooped in to acquire Haywood Highsmith from the Miami Heat, along with a 2032 second-round pick, in exchange for a protected 2026 second-rounder.

It’s another smart, low-risk move for Brooklyn, who’s already loaded up on draft capital — now boasting the most first- and second-round picks in the league. This deal also marks the third time this summer they’ve added a player without sacrificing long-term flexibility.

For Miami, it’s about freeing up resources and tweaking the roster, while the Nets continue to play the long game… with an ever-growing treasure chest of picks.
