The Milwaukee Bucks are locking down one of the NBA’s most consistent shooters
…and one of the best success stories in recent memory.
AJ Green has agreed to a four-year, $45 million fully guaranteed deal, keeping him in Milwaukee through the 2029–30 season. From undrafted in 2022 to $45M guaranteed, the 6-foot-4 guard has built himself into an elite marksman — shooting 42.7% from deep and nearly 45% on catch-and-shoot threes last season.

Green’s rise fits perfectly into the Bucks’ long-term vision. With Damian Lillard gone and Giannis leading a revamped group, Milwaukee is banking on shooting, spacing, and chemistry — three things AJ brings every night.

But as one door opens, another closes. The Bucks have waived forward Chris Livingston, the last pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. Livingston’s deal was guaranteed, but the front office needed to make room in a tightening 15-man roster. The message is clear: Milwaukee is trimming the fat and doubling down on their strengths — shooting, experience, and players who fit the system. AJ Green is the perfect example of that.
