Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards has been fined $25,000 for using profane language during a media interview, the NBA announced on Monday. Joe Dumars, Executive Vice President and Head of Basketball Operations, confirmed the disciplinary action.
The incident occurred during Edwards’ postgame media availability following the Timberwolves’ 107-90 victory over the Golden State Warriors on December 6 at Chase Center. Edwards’ comments, while reflecting his competitive energy, crossed the line of professionalism as per league standards.
Anthony Edwards has been averaging 26.3 points per game which is his career high, along with 5.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game along with shooting 45.3% from the field. Edwards is also leading the league in 3 pointers with 105.
