LA Clippers guard James Harden continues his ascent among the greatest scorers in NBA history, surpassing Moses Malone on Sunday to claim the 11th spot on the league’s all-time scoring list.
During the Clippers’ matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Harden hit a smooth floater off the glass in the third quarter, bringing his career total to 27,410 points—just enough to move past the Hall of Fame big man.
Harden’s Historic Climb
Already this season, Harden has climbed from 21st to 11th, passing nine players in the process. The 35-year-old guard now has his sights set on Carmelo Anthony (28,289 points, 10th all-time)—a gap of just 479 points.
If he keeps up his season averages of 22.6 PPG on 39.8% shooting (34.5% from three), Harden is well on track to crack the top 10 this season.
Beyond Anthony, Harden needs 307 more points to overtake Shaquille O’Neal (28,596 points, 9th all-time)—a mark that could realistically fall next season.
Next Stop: 30,000 Points?
With 11 games left in the regular season, Harden will continue to chip away at history. At his current scoring pace, he could surpass 30,000 career points sometime in the 2025-26 season or early 2026-27, further cementing his legacy as one of the game’s most prolific scorers.
Where do you think Harden will finish his career on the all-time scoring list? 👀
