Scottie Barnes has had a great start to the season, averaging career highs in rebounds with 8.4, dishing out a career high 7.4 assists and scoring 20.6 points per game. Barnes also tied his career high in steals with 1.3.
Although his shooting was mediocre with 31% from 3 pointer on 6 attempts a game, and shooting 72.5% from the free throw, and 46.1% from the field in total, Barnes has suffered an injury in the 113-108 loss to the New York Knicks.
The unfortunate event happened with 6 minutes left in the 3rd quarter where he and Karl-Anthony Towns were fighting for a rebound and in the mix suffered a right ankle injury, and is to be sidelined for at least a week.
The NBA all-star signed a supermax contract worth up to $270 million if he meets the supermax criteria. Barnes missed 11 games this season because of another injury, this time a right orbital fracture which forced him to wear protective goggles since November the 21st.
