The Kings’ Domantas Sabonis continued his impressive form, registering his second consecutive triple-double and his fourth in six games this month. He scored 21 points and added 14 assists and 11 rebounds, making it his 17th triple-double of the season and the 49th of his career. Malik Monk was the Kings’ top scorer with 26 points, while De’Aaron Fox struggled, scoring only 15 points on 6-for-17 shooting.
The Thunder started strongly, with Gilgeous-Alexander scoring 15 points in the first quarter on 6-for-8 shooting. He and Williams combined for 19 points each to help the Thunder take a 67-57 lead at halftime. The Kings tried to come back in the second half, but the Thunder controlled the third quarter, with a 16-0 run putting them ahead 88-66. The Thunder led 100-83 heading into the fourth quarter, and although the Kings cut the deficit to eight, a 3-pointer by Gilgeous-Alexander with just under four minutes remaining sealed the win for the Thunder.
Gilgeous-Alexander was pleased with his team’s performance, saying they played to their identity from the start. Overall, it was a fantastic performance from the Thunder, who will be hoping to build on this win in their next game.
