This Christmas was a one for the history books, as the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs put on a show. Mikal Bridges scored a season high of 41 points, including 15 in the 4th quarter, shooting 17-25 from the field and made 6 3 pointers, he alone led the Knicks to their 5th straight win.

Bridges became the 3rd New York Knick to score 40 points on christmas day, Richie Guerin’s 40 points and Bernard King’s 60 point’s are the only other players. With Bernard King’s 60 piece is the most points ever scored on Christmas.

Victor Wembanyama is only in his second season and is already taking over, scoring 42 points and 18 rebounds along with 6 3 pointers, 4 blocks and 4 assists.

Wembanyama became the first player to score 40 points, 15 rebounds and 5 3 pointers on Christmas day.

As well as that, Wembanyama’s 42 points is the 3rd most points in a Christmas game debut, with Wilt Chamberlain’s 45 points and Tracy McGrady’s 43 points top Victor’s.

Wembanyama was also 1 rebound shy of breaking the Christmas day Spurs record of 19 rebounds by the Admiral David Robinson.

Wemby and Mikal became the first pair of opposing players to both score 40 points in a single Christmas day game since 1961 when Elgin Baylor and Oscar Robertson each scored 40.

Overall they both put up one of the beat Christmas Day games to date, and it definitely made Christmas Day better, with a good game of basketball, another great Christmas in the books.
