Russell Westbrook, the point guard for the Los Angeles Clippers, has reached yet another milestone in his illustrious NBA career. During a game against the Detroit Pistons, Westbrook made a driving layup in the fourth quarter, which helped him become the 25th player in NBA history to score 25,000 career points. This latest achievement comes as no surprise, given Westbrook’s reputation as one of the league’s most dominant players.

Westbrook entered the game with 24,977 career points and finished with 23 points, putting him 192 points behind Jerry West and 279 points behind Reggie Miller on the all-time scoring list. His final bucket of the night, a running layup with 2:44 left, took him over the 25,000-point milestone.

This is not the first time that Westbrook has made history in the NBA. He is already the all-time leader in triple-doubles, with 199 to his name, and has been named an All-Star nine times. With his most recent achievement, Westbrook joins LeBron James as the only other player in NBA history to amass 25,000 points, 9,000 assists, and 8,000 rebounds.

Westbrook was humble about his latest accomplishment, saying in a postgame interview, “It’s a blessing. I don’t take any game, any night for granted. I’m grateful to play the game of basketball.” Westbrook is the fourth active player with at least 25,000 points, along with James (39,747), Kevin Durant (28,091), and James Harden (25,404).

The 32-year-old Westbrook, who is in his 15th season in the NBA, is currently averaging 11.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.7 assists. Westbrook’s contribution to the Clippers has been instrumental in their recent success, and he remains a vital part of their roster.
