76ers and Pelicans fined for not following Injury reporting rules

The National Basketball Association (NBA) has recently made an announcement regarding the violation of league injury reporting rules by two teams – the New Orleans Pelicans and the Philadelphia 76ers. As per the league’s investigation, the Pelicans have been fined a sum of $25,000 for not including Trey Murphy III’s name in the team’s injury report for their game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday, January 27.

On the other hand, the 76ers have been slapped with a hefty fine of $75,000 for not accurately and timely reporting Joel Embiid’s injury status for the team’s game against the Denver Nuggets on the same day. It is worth noting that the fine amount also takes into account the team’s past history of violating injury reporting rules. However, it was found that there was no violation of the Player Participation Policy since Embiid’s absence was due to a confirmed injury.
