The Sacramento Kings are finalizing a deal to hire three-time NBA champion BJ Armstrong as assistant general manager under new GM Scott Perry, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania . Armstrong, a former Chicago Bulls guard, played 11 NBA seasons (1989–2000) and has spent the last two decades as a player agent. He brings a wealth of experience to Sacramento’s front office.
Armstrong’s NBA career includes three championships with the Bulls from 1991 to 1993. Post-retirement, he worked in the Bulls’ front office and later became a player agent, representing notable players like Derrick Rose. His longstanding relationship with Perry, including co-hosting “The Hoop Genius Podcast,” suggests a strong collaborative dynamic.
This hire is part of a broader restructuring for the Kings, who recently appointed Perry as GM and removed the interim tag from head coach Doug Christie. Armstrong’s diverse background as a player, executive, and agent positions him to contribute significantly to the team’s future.
