In the first few games of the Memphis Grizzlies season have been riddled with questions concerning the playability of their rising star Desmond Bane, who has risen to another level in 2024 after being the one behind Jaren Jackson Jr. to step up in Ja Morant’s incidents last season and a barrage of injuries forced him to miss 73 games. Bane averaged career highs in points with 23.7 and assists with 5.5 per night.

Another big injury for the Memphis Grizzlies is their defensive mastermind, Marcus Smart, the former Defensive player of the year winner, Marcus Smart along with Jaren Jackson Jr. Have made the grizzlies defense incredible, especially alongside players such as Ja Morant and smaller guards, as they tend to wreak havoc more on the offensive side.

Both Marcus Smart and Desmond Bane were injured in the loss to the Nets on Wednesday, Desmond Bane suffered a right oblique strain, which the grizzlies have stated that it is a week to week injury, and Marcus Smart sprained his right ankle which they have also stated is a week to week injury.

Marcus Smart also missed over 60 games last season, joining practically the whole Memphis team, Smart battled a sprained left foot along with an injured finger. Bane was pretty much the only decent healthy player left on Memphis last season, even though he missed nearly half the season due to injuries, hopefully they can turn things up and actually play ball this season.
