The Atlanta Hawks are making a roster shift ahead of free agency. According to ESPN, the team is declining the $2.2 million team option on forward Dominick Barlow, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Barlow, a 6’9″ athletic forward, showed flashes of potential as a high-energy role player in limited minutes. But with Atlanta retooling around its young core and already loaded at the forward spot, the team opted to move on.

The move frees up a bit of cap space for the Hawks and gives Barlow a chance to explore opportunities around the league — where his athleticism and versatility could land him a new home quickly.
