LeBron Rumours: One of, if not the, greatest rumours in the league right now is not some insane trade offer that the biggest teams are trying to complete; it doesn’t even concern a player with more than 200 career regular-season points. Some fans might even call him a fraud, only getting into the NBA because his father is none other than the greatest basketball player to ever live.
Of course, I am talking about none other than Bronny James, perhaps one of the most popular and overhyped 2nd-round picks of all time, and the rumours surrounding him potentially getting traded are not because he is not a good basketball player. Once again, it is his Dad, LeBron James, who is pulling the strings behind the curtains.
The LeBron James – Bronny James Rumours Are Heating Up
Bronny James has been linked to multiple trades in the last month, ever since LeBron James declined his $51.4 Million Player Option, making him an unrestricted free agent. With the Lakers even renouncing LeBron’s rights moments after, this confirmed that LeBron would not return to Los Angeles, which meant trouble for Bronny.
Not only has Bronny been brought up in trade talks, but now that LeBron James is gone, there are even rumours going as far as to say that the Lakers are going to waive him from the Los Angeles Lakers and the South Bay Lakers, meaning Bronny will have to find a new team if he wants to truly excel as a professional athlete.
ESPN’s Insider Brian Windhorst said that Bronny James could be linked to all of the teams that LeBron James is tipped to join, with the 2 favourites in signing LeBron, the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers, both verbally saying in public that they are open to trading for Bronny James. This not only contradicts previous statements saying that Bronny James was not linked to LeBron’s future, but also proves that LeBron can easily be manipulated by one thing: his family.
If this truly is LeBron’s final 1 or 2 seasons, what better way to go out in one of the two cities that welcomed you over a decade earlier, where you won 4 of your MVP’s, 3 of your Championships, and numerous other records and accolades, let alone alongside your own son, whom you raised in both cities?
LeBron James reportedly knows this; he wants to return to Cleveland, he overall loves Miami, and he adores the idea of teaming up with his former archnemesis in San Francisco, but the question still lies within: where is he truly going? The answer to that question is that nobody, not even Rich Paul or his good friends, knows.
I am not even sure at this point that LeBron James himself knows, and no one blames him. Even through scrutiny of taking too long, with Adam Silver saying himself that he is getting annoyed at LeBron for taking this long, he still stands strong and will make a decision when he is ready, not when the world wants him to.
That is one of the parts that I love about LeBron James, the ability to stand up for what he believes in. Even though he hangs around some of the highest, most powerful individuals in the world, at his core, he is still just a kid from Akron, and I believe a trip back to Cleveland will remove some of his worst qualities.
LeBron James, through his fame and wealth, has developed a level of arrogance and an egotistic mindset within him, something that I do not like about LeBron James. He has let the wealth nd the power get ot him, and I personally blame it on the crowd he hangs around, because as the famous saying goes, “You are who you hang out with”.
Even through this, LeBron has managed to put up impressive numbers consistently throughout his career, averaging a modest 26 Points, 7 Rebounds and 7 Assists for the last 24 seasons, being able to average at least 25 Points, 5 Rebounds, and 5 Assists in 16 different seasons.
